We’re very excited to tell you that as well as being able to watch steps demonstrated by some of the world’s best dancers, you’ll shortly be able to read advice and commentary on those steps from even more top professionals!
This means that if you’re not sure what to look out for when you’re watching our videos, or need some pointers to help you dance a step better, the advice will be right there next to the video. Some examples of topics covered are: where power comes from in different actions, how to stretch to create fuller shapes, and how partners can help each other in rotational steps. Watch this space to find out the identities of our first Ballroom Genius experts.

A new dance waltzing your way…
For the first time since the site launched, it’s growing a new dance! The computers are currently whirring away finalising our new Viennese Waltz videos, which will appear on the site in the next few weeks. If you’re already a member, you’ll automatically get access to all the new videos at no extra cost, and new members can also unlock the full library of Waltz, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz steps for just £9.99/month.

Price reduction and student discount
Autumn’s here, the first leaves have fallen, and so has Ballroom Genie’s price. You can now access all our Waltz and Quickstep videos for just £9.99/month, which is 33% less than our full launch price. If you’ve been looking around and enjoying our sample videos, we hope that we can now tempt you to join and try out the full service :-)
With the start of the new academic year, we’re also launching our student discount scheme. If you’re a full-time university student on a tight budget, you can get extra help from Ballroom Genie for a discount. If you’re interested, just send us an e-mail at hello@ballroomgenie.com before the end of October 2013, tell us where you’re studying, and we’ll arrange the discount for you and your club or team.

New steps added
One of the ideas behind Ballroom Genie is that it can grow – being a website it’s not limited by space the way a DVD is. So today, we’ve added our first set of new steps! They are:

We’d noticed that in the steps included at launch, there were more ‘basic’ steps in Waltz and more ‘open’ steps in Quickstep, so we’ve tried to balance that up a bit with this update.

Ballroom Genie has launched!
Today we are delighted to announce that the Ballroom Genie service is live and available for subscribers to use. You can sign up here.
As well as the 9 different viewpoints (including top-down), clear views of each partner, and smooth quarter-speed animation that you can see on the free test page, our videos now show where the beat is in every step. You can find the list of steps available now and a link to a free sample video for each one on the contents page.
Our launch price is just £12/month (20% off our regular price), and that offer is valid only until 16 August 2013! For that you’ll get access to all our Waltz and Quickstep videos. We plan to add more steps and then more dances as the service grows, so if you like it, please tell your dancing friends – the more subscribers there are, the sooner we can add new content to the site!
