Ballroom Genie advent calendar goes live!

We’ve decided to do something special through December this year. Every day until Christmas Eve you’ll find a new, exclusive expert tip, illustrated by one of our videos, on our advent calendar.

Our expert contributors are Jonathan Crossley, Hazel Newberry and Benoit Drolet – there’s more information about their dance careers and achievements here.

We’ll have a new tip every day, and our members can log in and see all the earlier ones. They also have access to many more tips and thousands of videos covering 86 steps in 4 dances, so what you see for free is only the tip of the iceberg!

To start us off, today’s tip is by Jonathan Crossley, on the Fleckerl in Viennese Waltz.

Hazel Newberry

We’re very happy to announce that our next Ballroom Genius expert, offering her insightful advice to accompany our videos, is 3-times World Professional Ballroom Champion, Hazel Newberry.

If you’re a member, you can now read Hazel’s comprehensive commentaries on two Waltz figures: the bounce fallaway, and the left whisk from closed position. She describes the actions for both partners in detail, and you can see her points illustrated in the videos. Try watching in slow motion with one partner semi-transparent to pick up on the detail. You can also look forward to much more advice on the way – we had to redesign parts of the site to fit everything in :-)

More Ballroom Genius advice added,
new steps on the way!

You haven’t heard much from us recently, but there’s been lots of work going on behind the scenes to bring you new content!

We rolled out the first few Ballroom Genius tips to our members in January and we’ve just added another set. (As we announced earlier, Ballroom Genius is advice from some of the world’s best dancers to accompany our videos and help you improve your dancing.)

We’re very pleased to announce that our first expert contributor is Canadian Masters and UK Closed Professional Champion, Benoit Drolet. Read more about Benoit.

Ballroom Genius advice is exclusive to Ballroom Genie members, so if you’d like to learn from what our experts have to say, join now!

We’ll also shortly be adding lots more steps to the site. Watch this space (or follow us on Facebook or Twitter) to find out what’s new as it happens. If you’re a member, you’ll get access to all the new steps as they’re added (as well as all the Ballroom Genius advice) at no extra cost :-)

Our Safe Subscription Guarantee

Monthly means monthly – no annual contract

We’ve been asked several times recently whether a subscription to Ballroom Genie is a long-term, locked-in contract. The answer is a definite no!

To make this clear, we’ve introduced our Safe Subscription Guarantee. If you sign up on our monthly plan, you’re charged for one month at a time. If you decide it’s not for you, you can end your subscription at any time via your account page on the site, and you won’t be charged again. There’s no sneaky annual contract – we don’t like those either!

We hope you’ve all had a great start to 2014, and wish you a happy new dancing year ahead :-)
